TOWN OF BODE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

 

DATE: Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 Time: 5:30 p.m. - 6:30pm

Location: Town Hall Council Chambers, 105 Humboldt Ave

 

1.               CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Miller called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

 

2.               ROLL CALL

PRESENT: Mayor Miller, Council Members: Paula Fulwider, Glenn Hasfjord, Ryan McCart, and Jess Tepner

ABSENT: Rob Mckenna

Derek Dugan - Maintenance & Courtney McCullough - Town Clerk were also present!

 

3.               APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Council member Tepner made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Motion seconded by council member Fulwider. All ayes, motion carried.

 

4.               APPROVE MINUTES FROM AUGUST 3RD COUNCIL MEETING

Council member McCart made a motion to approve the minutes for the August, 3rd 2026 regular meeting as written. Motion seconded by council member Fulwider. All ayes, Motion carried.

 

5.               PROPANE CONTRACT WITH OTTOSEN:

Ottosen Elevator supplies our propane and we will be contracting it

at their going rate. Motion was made by McCart and seconded by Hasfjord. All ayes. Motion carried.

 

6.         NEW WELCOME SIGN FOR BODE:

Came up with design and size. Will be looking for somewhere to have it made. Motion was made by Tepner, Seconded by Fulwider. All ayes. Motion carried.

 

7.         COMMUNITY CENTER FLOOR AND HALLWAY:

This was not discussed a whole lot at the old people finally got back to us after leaving a bad review on google. They are willing to come in and re-do the floor for free of charge!!


8.          CARPET ESTIMATES FOR OFFICE AREA:

We got 3 different estimates and will be going with Jims Carpet one out of Fort Dodge as he has the best service for the price. The carpet in the office is is the original carpet! We will be using carpet squares so in the future if any Water damage happens; we only have to replace certain squares. Motion was made by Tepner, and seconded by Fulwider. All ayes. Motion carried.

 

9.         NUISANCE PROPERTY:

We have been working on nuisance properties for a while now. We will be on top of this! Getting quotes from contractors to clean up mess! Motion Carried by Tepner, Seconded by McCart. All ayes! Motion carried.

 

10.          CAMERAS AT LAGOON:

It has been brought to our attention that kids/teenagers have been

going to the lagoon to hang out! That's poop! 🧐 It also can be dangerous if you fall in! We will be putting cameras out there! Motion was carried by Fulwider, and seconded by Tepner. All ayes! Motion Carried.

 

11.      OLD BUSINESS:

The new Flag Pole has been installed by Dan Weydert. It looks amazing! Will be doing landscaping here soon to dress it up there :) Starting this week painting of the office will begin! Motion was carried by Hasfjord, and seconded by McCart. All ayes! Motion carried!

 

12.        MAINTENANCE REPORT:

The big bump on the main road has been fixed. We know there are other small ones and they will get to those also in time, really wanted to get that large one fixed before harvest!

 

13.              SET NEXT MEETING FOR MONDAY, OCTOBER 5TH @ 530 PM:

Motion was made by Tepner, seconded by McCart. All ayes! Motion carried.
