The Bode City Council met in regular session April 6, 2026 at 5:45PM in the council chambers. Council members Tepner, Fulwider, Hasfjord, and McKenna were present. Absent McCart. Mayor Miller called the meeting to order a motion made by Hasfjord, second by Tepner to approve the agenda as posted. All ayes, motion carried. A motion was made by Tepner, second by Hasfjord, to approve the minutes of the March meeting as published. All ayes, motion carried.
Community Center Rental Rules & Regulations were discussed; the City Hall will include these when renting the room. Rental fees and the cleaning deposit will remain the same.
A building permit located at 603 7th street was reviewed, this permit was tabled until clarification on the feet in the backyard is noted.
The city has received a few quotes for garbage collection. Following discussion, a motion was made by Hasfjord, second by Fulwider to continue with garbage collection as the city has been doing. All ayes, motion carried.
Derek will be attending water classes in April; Nate Hosford will complete the daily water rounds until he returns.
A motion was made by Fulwider, second by Tepner to approve classes through the Iowa Municipal Professional Institute in Ames June 15th-18th for a cost of $495 along with hotel accommodation during the session. All ayes, motion carried.
A quote from Central Tank Coating for Interior Painting along with an Overflow Pipe was reviewed. This proposal will be kept for budgeting purposes in the future.
A motion was made by Tepner, second by Fulwider to approve the 2026/27 City Budget and set public hearing as April 27th @ 5:30PM.
A motion was made by Fulwider, second by Tepner to set the next regular council meeting as May 4th. All ayes, motion carried.
