The Bode City Council met in regular session December 4th at 5:30PM in the council chambers. All members were present, also present Robert McKenna. Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order. All council was sworn in, including newly elected council member Robert McKenna. A motion was made by Tepner, second by Miller to approve the agenda as posted. All ayes, motion carried. A motion was made by Rongved, second by Miller to approve the minutes from the November 6th & 20th council meetings.
Todd McMahon, City Maintenance reported that drawn down at the lagoon is almost complete and the sander on the plow truck is now working.
The DNR water supply inspection was reviewed, corrections to record chlorine throughout the distribution center will be made.
A motion was made by Rongved, second by Miller to approve the quote from Display Sales in the amount of 4,074 for new Holiday Pole decorations, with a correction of 2 wreaths to replace the original quote of poinsettias. All ayes, motion carried.
A motion was made by Miller, second by Tepner to set public hearing for CDBG application for sewer project as December 19th at 5:30PM in the council chambers. All ayes, motion carried.
The State Revolving Fund update, provided by the DNR was reviewed. The environmental Review that was published on October 19th received no objections. This also outlined procedures that are required for construction permits, bid specifications, as well as the loan process.
A motion was made by Fulwider, second by Tepner to approve the funding request to Upper Des Moines in the amount of $250, this financial support is only used to assist individuals in need within our city. All ayes, motion carried.
City Clerk informed the council that she had attended the advanced Budget workshop, she handed out New Property Tax Law-House File 718. This file will affect the city budget.
City Clerk has been working with Midas Council of Government to update our City Code. Council agreed that parking fees, concealed carry were items that will not be included in this update. The Clerk will forward the City Code’s updates to the council, and will list this on the January Council agenda.
A motion was made by Miller, second by Tepner to set the next regular council meeting as Tuesday January 2nd, due to the January first holiday.
