The Bode City Council met in regular session Monday May 6th at 6PM in the council chambers. Council members Tepner, Peterson, Rongved and Douglas were present; absent Dale. Also present, James Warnke and Kenny Metzger. Mayor Miller called the meeting to order, a motion was made by Douglas, second by Rongved to approve the agenda as posted. A motion was made by Peterson, second by Douglas to approve the minutes as published. All ayes, motion carried.
A motion was made by Peterson, second by Tepner to approve a building permit for a 32 x 30 garage located at 401 College Ave, all ayes motion carried.
A motion was made by Peterson, second by Douglas to approve a building permit for a garage, extended living room, and bedroom at 603 7th street. All ayes, motion carried.
A motion was made by Douglas, second by Tepner to approve a 74x52 bus barn at 200 College Ave. All ayes, motion carried.
Colby Stoneking was not present to discuss chickens at 13 NW Ave, it was discussed, and the consensus was to uphold the Ordinance which states “Poultry is not allowed”.
Water or drainage was discussed in concerns to a property located at 603 Christiana Ave, Algona Plumbing and heating went to the location to run a camera into a tile to see if damage could be seen. The camera did not reach the alley do to mud depth; it did reach to about 59 feet. The City is asking for a written report from Algona Plumbing & Heating on their findings. It appears that the tile in the alley is intact as no water has surfaced.
The council reviewed a quote from Humboldt Mutual Insurance adding Cyber Liability Coverage, it was agreed to not add this additional coverage at this time.
This
being the time and place at which the council shall receive oral or written
objections from residents or property owners of the city concerning the “Animal
Protection & Control” Ordinance. The mayor called for any oral or written
objections and there being none a motion was made by Peterson, second by Tepner
to approve the Ordinance while waiving the second the third reading of the
ordinance. Roll call: Tepner, Peterson, Douglas, and Rongved all voting AYE.
This ordinance eliminates breed specific dogs. “Animal

A motion
was made by Douglas, second by Rongved to approve a Cigarette/Tobacco Permit to
Norm’s General Store. All ayes, motion carried.
A motion
was made by Douglas, second by Rongved to approve the amended 2018-19 City
Budget and set public hearing at 5:30PM on May 28th at the Bode City
Hall. All ayes, motion carried.
Mayor
Miller addressed the council on changing the start time of council meetings to
5:30PM.
A motion
was made by Peterson, second by Rongved to approve the purchasing of extra
cameras. All ayes, motion carried.
